PUTRAJAYA, 10 June 2026 (The Capital Post) – The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening integrity and organisational governance through greater awareness of corporate liability provisions and enhanced integrity management practices.
NRES Secretary-General Datuk Wira Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin officiated the closing session of an executive briefing on Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009 and the 2025 Guidelines for the Management of Integrity Units in Statutory Bodies and Companies Limited by Guarantee (CLBG).
According to a Facebook post by Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Kelestarian Alam, Anis Rizana stressed that integrity goes beyond regulatory compliance and represents a leadership responsibility that must be championed and exemplified by top management.
She said a strong culture of integrity is fundamental to strengthening governance systems that are effective, transparent and accountable.
The hybrid briefing brought together chief executive officers, board members and senior management representatives from statutory bodies and CLBGs under NRES to enhance understanding of Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009, which relates to corporate liability, as well as the implementation of the latest integrity management guidelines.

The programme also focused on reinforcing the role and functions of Integrity Units in supporting organisational accountability and governance standards.
NRES said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to cultivating integrity, enhancing accountability and strengthening resilient governance practices across agencies under its purview.
Also present was Ministry of Works Integrity Unit Director Mohd Nur Lokman Samingan, alongside chief executive officers and representatives from agencies under the ministry.
The ministry said integrity remains a core pillar in public service delivery and an essential component in supporting the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and the nation’s sustainability agenda. – The Capital Post
