SHAH ALAM: Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah has officially withdrawn his appeal against his dismissal from Bersatu, following Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan’s similar decision earlier today.

The former member of Bersatu’s Supreme Working Council did not provide a reason for his action, according to Sinar Harian. In a letter to the Chairman of the Bersatu Appeal Board on Monday (Feb 16), Saifuddin requested that all further proceedings related to his appeal be halted.

Saifuddin, the Indera Mahkota MP, had previously received a letter from the Bersatu Disciplinary Board on Jan 6 regarding his dismissal for violating Clause 9.1.4 of the party’s constitution, though the specific offence was not disclosed.

On Oct 27 last year, Saifuddin and former Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli were removed from their roles as Perikatan Nasional (PN) state chairmen for Pahang and Perlis, respectively. Their positions are now held by PAS Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man (PN Pahang) and Arau MP Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim (PN Perlis).
