BANGKOK 10 March 2026 (The Capital Post)- The Thai Cabinet has introduced a series of cost-saving measures for government agencies, including work-from-home arrangements, limits on air-conditioning usage and a temporary halt to overseas travel by officials.
Government offices have been instructed to allow civil servants to work remotely where possible as part of efforts to reduce operational expenses. Agencies were also directed to set air-conditioning temperatures at no lower than 26 degrees Celsius to conserve electricity.
The measures form part of a broader initiative by the government led by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to manage public spending more efficiently amid economic pressures.

In addition, ministries and state agencies have been told to suspend most overseas trips and reduce non-essential expenditures. Officials said the move is intended to ensure that government resources are used more prudently while maintaining essential public services.
Authorities added that the cost-cutting steps will be implemented across government departments nationwide, with agencies expected to comply with the new guidelines to help curb operational spending.-The Capital Post
