ROME: Donald Trump revealed that he met with Vas Narasimhan, chief executive officer of Swiss pharmaceutical giant Novartis, at the White House on Wednesday.
Speaking to workers at a steel plant in Rome, Georgia, on Thursday, Trump said Narasimhan informed him that Novartis plans to build 11 manufacturing plants in the United States, attributing the expansion to the administration’s tariff policies.
In a statement to Reuters, a Novartis spokesperson said the company welcomed the opportunity to brief the US government on its latest developments. These include recent groundbreakings for manufacturing and research facilities in North Carolina and California, as well as plans to expand its radioligand therapy manufacturing network with a new site in Florida. However, the company did not specify the total number of facilities it intends to construct in the US.
