KOTA KINABALU, 19 May 2026 (The Capital Post) — Deputy Health Minister Hanifah Hajar Taib attended the Red Ribbon Kota Kinabalu High Tea 2026 event held at Hilton Kota Kinabalu, Sabah recently.
The event was officiated by Ceasar Mandela Malakun, representing Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor.
The gathering reflected the continued commitment of Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH), the Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) and the Sabah state government in strengthening efforts related to HIV prevention, treatment and community support in line with the National Strategic Plan to End AIDS by 2030 (NSPEA2030).
In her speech, Hanifah Hajar Taib expressed appreciation to the Malaysian AIDS Foundation for its ongoing commitment in strengthening the country’s response towards HIV/AIDS.
She also conveyed appreciation to Jamilah Anu for her continuous support in empowering HIV/AIDS-related initiatives in Sabah and Sarawak.
Since 2018, the Malaysian AIDS Foundation through the Sabah Health Access Programme (SHAPE) has assisted low-income HIV patients, particularly those from rural and interior areas, in obtaining consistent access to treatment.

The programme has benefited more than 2,000 clients across several districts in Sabah and has played an important role in ensuring treatment continuity while improving patient health outcomes.
MOH reaffirmed its commitment to expanding HIV treatment access throughout Sabah, including through strategic collaborations such as SHAPE to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps, especially for rural and remote communities.
Also present were Malaysian AIDS Foundation chairman Adeeba Kamarulzaman, MOH HIV, STI and Hepatitis C Sector Control chief Dr. Fazidah Yuswan, and Sabah State Health Director Datuk Dr. William Gotulis.
