Kuala Lumpur 6 May 2026 (The Capital Post) – Malaysian football fans will be able to watch full coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup through a collaboration between Unifi TV and Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that Unifi TV will broadcast all 104 matches live, while RTM will provide free-to-air coverage of a significant number of games via its television channels and digital platform, RTMKlik.
The partnership aims to ensure broader access for Malaysians, combining subscription-based and free-to-air options so that fans across the country can follow the tournament on multiple platforms.
In addition to live matches, dedicated studio programmes and analysis segments will also be produced, primarily in Bahasa Melayu, with selected content available in English to cater to wider audiences.

The move is seen as a major step in improving accessibility to global sporting events, especially after earlier uncertainty over broadcast rights due to high acquisition costs.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, set to be held across the United States, Canada and Mexico, will feature an expanded format and is expected to be one of the most widely viewed tournaments globally.
Officials said the collaboration reflects efforts to ensure inclusive access to major sporting events while leveraging both traditional broadcasting and digital streaming platforms. -The Capital Post
